HKSUM has been established in February
2006. It is a multi-disciplinary society,
whose members are health care professionals and include obstetricians
and gynaecologists,
radiologists, cardiologists, radiographers, and midwives/nurses.
HKSUM works to advance the art and science of ultrasound in medicine,
and to provide education,
guidance and information for its members and the public.
HKSUM has been successfully affiliated to Asean Federation of Societies
for Ultrasound in Medicine and
Biology (AFSUMB) which is in turn under the umbrella of World Federation
for Ultrasound in Medicine and
Biology (WFUMB) http://www.wfumb.org/

HKSUM is an associate member of Hong Kong Federation of Medical Societies of Hong Kong.
Exemption under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance was
granted to the HKSUM.
